Senior Talent Partner

You can't market authenticity — you can only build it and get out of the way.

What's the biggest shift in how you work over the last year?

Recruiting here changed when the job descriptions changed. We're not hiring for function-specific skills anymore — we're hiring for people who can operate with AI systems in their workflow. That means the screen questions changed, the evaluation criteria changed, and the profiles that perform well here look different from two years ago. I had to rebuild my candidate model from scratch.

What does it mean to operate alongside agents in your function?

I use an agent layer for sourcing — it surfaces candidates from LinkedIn, GitHub, and our internal ATS against a structured role profile. But the judgment calls are mine: who's worth a conversation, which background signals real depth versus pattern-matching on buzzwords, how to evaluate someone's actual capacity to work with AI versus their claim to. Agents surface candidates. I decide who to pursue.

What would you tell someone considering joining Groupon right now?

If you're in talent acquisition, this is a rare place to do the work at the frontier of what the function looks like in an AI-native company. We're figuring out what good hiring looks like when the job descriptions have changed fundamentally. That's interesting work. You'll spend real time on the hard question — what does excellence look like in this new operating model — rather than processing CVs.
